Dr. Marcia Ely, our founder and primary practicing veterinarian, has maintained a powerful connection with animals from a young age. From helping care for the beloved family dog, Smiley, the family horse, Big Red, to being an active member in the FFA, where she worked to FFA farm and raised a steer, it was clear that her connection to animals of all types would play a profound role in the years to come.

After working with various veterinary practices, Dr. Ely ultimately decided that she wanted to achieve the joy and responsibility of owning her own practice, so that she could better focus on developing one-on-one relationships that mattered, while making a difference in the everyday lives of both pets and their owners.

This passion and resolve ultimately manifested in the creation of Sunrise Animal Hospital, which to this day, serves the residents of Titusville, Florida and across the Florida region by working to optimize outcomes for pets of various types, breeds and life-stages.

Dr. Marcia Ely has been working with pets and their owners for over 30 years, developing personal relationships with pet owners who are much more than just clients. Dr. Ely considers these individuals to be family. Accordingly, she takes extra time to ensure each pet owner is heard and feels honored during their visit, spending extra time to answer questions and lend help however she can.
